Hebrew Prophetic Passages

A full presentation of passages in the Hebrew Scriptures pointing to Jesus as Messiah is beyond the limits of this examination. However, eight of the major Messianic predictions will be examined and compared with the Jewish exegesis and application. This will be followed by a list of Jewish and Talmudic references regarding Messianic passages that have found fulfillment in Jesus. In the examination of Jewish objections to these passages, Isaac Troki’s work, Hizzuk Emanuh, and Gerald Sigal’s book, The Jew and the Christian Missionary, will be used as primary sources. Other Jewish sources such as The Nizzahon Vetus, along with authors Samuel Sandmel and Samuel Levine, will also be referred to.
